According to Ars Technica, Google has release a developer preview version of its Google Chrome for Mac. Google Chrome is a WebKit-based Web browser, previously only available for Windows platform.

Google Chrome's design goals were improvements in security, speed and stability compared to existing browsers. There were also extensive changes in the user interface. Google claims Chrome offers a more streamlined user experience for people that spend most of their working time in a Web browser.

WebKit is a technology originally derived from the Konqueror browser’s KHTML software library by Apple, and heavily sponsored by Apple. WebKit is best known as the engine for Apple's Safari web browser on Mac OS X, and later on Windows platform.
