Portable Apps.com has already posted 3.5.5. I happen to be using FF portable. I, just now, downloaded the new update. Incremental updates are not available for the portable AFAIK.
As for the regular 3.5.5., an incremental update of 2.0MB did the job.
And, things are pretty confusing with 3.0.15. Have they quit supporting it, already? A Check for Updates suggest the installation of 3.5.4. I guess they don't know that there is 3.5.5.

Fulvio, as far as I know 3.0.x still has support until January. It may be taking them a little longer to release an update, as is the same with SeaMonkey.

Your reply is the way I expected. However, I was puzzled to see, when I selected Check for Updates, that there an update, for 3.0.15, and that was 3.5.4 (not 3.5.5). But, I am not surprised of the delay. The major effort is on 3.5.x.

I don't see why Mozilla is rushing. I mean, they just pushed a beta for 3.6! Didn't 3.5 just come out? And when 3.5 was released, wasn't 3.0 just released then? And each version just seems to be getting buggier and more demanding.

There's a group of people mostly high school/college students I labelled them 'open-source extremists'. Besides their demand of software being open-source and usually strong hatred against most big companies (with an interesting exception of Google), most of them also have a tendency: They must have the latest update or applying the newest patches.

As I said elsewhere (not sure where), I removed all my final versions, and am relying on the newest .zip nightlies. I get a new one every five days, unless the program bugs me.

I understand having the latest. I always update. I couldn't wait to upgrade to 3.0 for Firefox. But Mozilla just seems to be throwing these releases out! Every time I look there is an update! It's getting crazy! Anyone remember Netscape and how long it was in between versions?

Well, these updates are not for the heck of it. If there is a security update, get it.
The release notes for 3.5.6 indicate that there were security updates. I did not see a link to the release notes of 3.5.6.

I'm not talking about security updates. I'm talking about completely new versions. Like 3.0-3.5, 3.0 wasn't even out a year before Mozilla released a who new version. I just don't get it.

I completely agree with you, John. These new versions every few months (not talking about security patches) are ridiculous. I could care less about having some new browser. A browser is just a tool... that's all. If it needs security patching, fine. But a tool is a tool...period. I don't need fancy this or fancy that. It used to be that a new version would come out on a yearly (even every second year) basis. I had Netscape 4 for the longest time (as I did Netscape 7... geeze... some people still use Netscape 7). Now we're constantly jumping around from one version to the next. It's a silly game for developers and I find it irritating. But we do need the latest security patches so what can you do?! :?

I agree 100%. These new updates are not justified. I cannot see any or much difference in the UI. They must not have much to go.
I would like the powers to be to rethink MozillaMessaging 3.0. And, put some minimal effort in Seamonkey2.0. Somepeople like the suites, and the effort put in Seamonkey2.0 has been subminimal.

I agree, Fulvio. It would be great to see more energy put into SM.
