This afternoon I checked my e-mail and got the new message indicator which said I had 11 new messages. Clicking on the "Get New Messages" icon does nothing, the messages do not download.
Even more troublesome, now none of the previously read, but undeleted messages are showing in the Inbox. They were not deleted.
I think these should be dowloaded on my computer somewhere, can someone offer some assistance in retrieving both the new messages that won't download and more importantly, the previously read messages which are not now showin in the Inbox.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Absolutely, you should be helped. You have, most likely, a case of corrupted header's files. They are not deleted, but you can't see them.
The solution is simple. First you have to find the Mail folder. The folder is in C:\Documents and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\Mozilla \Profiles\Netscape-Profile\xxxxxxxx.slt\Mail from Windows Explorer.
To confuse the situation, Windows hides the part from Application Data, included, so you will have to "unhide" the settings , from View. Then, with Netscape, open the Mail folder. I am assuming that you have only one account set up, so you will have a folder with the account name, and that's where you will find a file called Inbox.msf. Delete it. Do not delete a file with no extention. Since it was not good, it will be rebuilt, and you should be abl,e to see your mail again.
