Netscape 7.2 Pop-Up Blocker Auto turn-off?

Postby RoLinda » Wed 12 Oct, 2005 7:03 pm

I have just discovered that while using Netscape 7.2 in Windows XP SP2, the Netscape "Pop-Up Blocker" automatically turns itself off whenever I click to another URL, and adds that URL to the Allowed list. I must turn this thing off for every URL I go to, but by then that URL is already listed in the Allowed list.

I have another pop-up blocker working as well, so it is not doing too much damage, but it is annoying to not be able to trust Netscape.

Once I am in the new URL and I turn the Netscape blocker back on, it will stay on while navigating inside that URL.

Is there a fix for that without having to reinstall with all its intricate hoop jumping that I have read at your site???

By the way, I have a habit of removing ALL cookies and clearing all Cache after each session.

What type of hoop jumping? I have never heard of this problem.
Do you mean that you get more than one entry for the same website?
My problem is that I don't use NS7.2, except to answer questions like yours.
I saw a few sites which I was pretty sure that I had removed from the allowed list, but I never go there, anyway, nor get popups.
I have seen occasional popups, which cannot be explained by anything allowed, and don't include the visited website.
I, generall, ignore them, and I never see those popups again. But, if this happens at a frequently visited website, there may other ways to protect oneself, like blocking cookies.
I would need an example to see if this is your own problem, or is it universal?
