Enlarging Navigation Window in Netscape 8.0

Postby SicusaAdmin » Sun 16 Oct, 2005 11:13 am

I wish to enlarge the length of the navigation window in Netscape 8.0 so I can view more of the URL. At the moment I can only see a small portion of the URL.

If you can post your assist as well as send it by e-mail to 1@sicusa.org it would be appreciated.

I remember replying to a similar question, but can't find the original nor the reply. The question was: how do you remove the Search bar, because it takes room away from the location bar.
My reply included the content of the Navigation bar, which are:Back, Forward, and Reload button, the URL bar and the Search bar.
My URL bar is 7 in long, more than long enough to accomodate most URLs.
How is yours comparing in length? You can remove other junk in the the area, but I can't think of what. I have a 17in monitor.
I do not recommend trying to remove the Search bar.
If the URL is longer than 7 in, it can be copied and pasted, but the space available for the URL is very adequate.

See here for a similiar question and some suggestions, unfortunately its subject doesn't hint much as to its contents....

There are posts back to back. The final reply points, directly, to a Theme bug.
So, my answer is to change the theme, right?
And, thanks for fishing out the original, and your replies in the previous thread.

If you want to remove spaces from a Theme, then yes, currently you need to use one of the non Netscape Themes. The following work fine:-
    Modern Modoki
    Skypilot
    Aluminium Alloy
    Modernate
There may be others, I've only tried these 4.

Edit: Added Modernate

Since I am addicted to Skypilot, I never knew that there any problem. I don't like to to try different Themes, as one can have enough problems with Extentions. If one works, and is maintained, it is good enough for me (however, I have tried Modoki, which is also well maintained)
