garagrband problem

Postby musogat1 » Sun 06 Nov, 2005 4:11 pm

I recently purchased ILife 05 to get Garageband, all was fine up until 2 days ago. I have recorded about 8 tracks and all was looking good until I went to record again. If I either create a new track or select an existing track, all I get is a loud audio hiss. I havn't changed any settings on the audio/midi side of things. I also have Logic Express, I can record fine in this, so I suspect that it's a setting somewhere that is wrong. I must mention that I am a newbie with Mac's, I am running Panther 10.4 I think, with an external usb audio interface. I've done all the updates that was asked of me. It's very frustrating to have a half finished tune and now I can't do anything else with it or anything else for that matter, hel;p please :(

Have you tried deleting your preference settings of Garageband?

[tt]/Users/(username)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.garageband.cs[/tt]
and
[tt]/Users/(username)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.garageband.plist[/tt]

After deleting those, all settings (preferences) would be back to default.
