127.0.1 incoming mail server

every time i restart my computer my incoming mail server has changed to 127.0.1 why?

Do you have Norton AntiVirus, and scan your mail? It may do that.
But there are others. Usually, there are some other digits following the no.1.
Check with your ISP.

i am running mcafee internet suite but i have had to turn off the anti spam in order to fix the problem.
when its on and my incoming server changes to 127.0.1 i recieve no mail

It depends on your mail client ,i.e. Outlook Express, or whatever. I don't like to have anything changing my settings, but it should be possible to set up your problem in a way that you can get mail. Either your ISP or McAfee. I would do that first.
You can check the McAfee forum. You will have to sign up to post, but you may get all the information you want by doing a Search.
Let us know how you do, because these Internet Suites are causing more and more problems, if there is not a clear unterstanding on the way they operate (You know the old saying. When all else fails, read the instructions).
