Well, for the next beta version, 0.1b2, I got the Firefox icons from the Mac version of Firefox to work on other operating systems:

I managed to integrate the extensions into the chrome itself, so the next version won't require a new profile. You're still advised to create one though, or move the throbber to the right place yourself :P

Also, the next version will include the SillyDog701 Sidebar. I'm still deciding whether to keep the Google Toolbar, move to Googlebar, or move to the DJGM.co.uk Toolbar.

What about Googlebar Lite? The only drawback I see is there are alot less features/toolbar buttons than Googlebar or the Google Toolbar.

Also, have you seen IE View Lite and Nightly Tester Tools Lite as alternatives to the full extensions?

Well, 0.1b2 is ready, and the changes from 0.1b1 are the following:
 Windows version has Mac version's toolbar icons
 Google Toolbar removed, replaced with DJGM.co.uk toolbar
 All extensions integrated into the [tt]chrome[/tt], no new profile needed
 Profiles dir changed to [tt]Application Data\Mozilla\Firescp[/tt] (on windows) and [tt]Library/Application Support/Firescp[/tt] (on Mac OS X)
    Chrome is flat
 The Firefox icon on the windows version was replaced with a firescape icon (Thanks beanboy89 for the [tt].ico[/tt])
 The aqua styles were re-integrated into the windows version
 Included SillyDog701 Sidebar (new profiles only!)
 Included SillyDog701 Message Centre quick links in the personal toolbar (new profiles only!)
 Nightly tester tools removed (actually they're there, they just don't work for some unknown reason)
 The [tt]about:[/tt] page no longer reports "Firescape 1.5"

Links:

Known bugs (so far):
 The Extensions don't show up on the extension manager.
 The DJGM.co.uk toolbar looks weird on Mac OS X, clearly not Apple HIG compliant (it doesn't even look good!)

Enjoy! :)

IE View Lite? I don't include the full version, why even bother with the Lite?

I'll look into the nightly tester tools lite and googlebar lite :)

My fault; I got it confused with IE Tab.

In the Windows Version of Firescape 0.1 beta2, for some reason none of the added extensions appear in the Extensions Manager.

D'oh. I need to wake up tonight. ;)

It seems themes don't appear in the Theme Manager. Related problem? Also the Go button, Help window, and Bookmark Manager are not Pinstripe-themed on the Win32 build.

Themes do show up, it's just that for some reason, the default one doesn't. I'll have to look into that...

I have a strong feeling that the people at AOL and the Mozilla Foundation in charge of trademark policies are not going to be happy if they found out about the logo you're using.

if anyone complains, I'll have to change logo, of course, but hopefully they won't.

I think you know what I'm gonna ask here ... but . . .

 How did you do it ?
 XPI please ...

As I've said to Antony, the Apple H.I.G. issue was beyond my control, as I've been using 3rd party
software to create the DJGM.co.uk Toolbar, and to convert it for compatibility with Mozilla Firefox.

Now I'll need to add the Apple H.I.G. compliant XPI to my website for others to download.

Sorry, you're out of luck on that one. The fix was done by changing firefox itself. My attempt at porting the fix to the toolbar itself, resulted in this fugly monstrocity:

(Please resize screenshot, original screenshot http://kernel.ws/~puto.hosting/djgm.JPG)

EDIT: Never mind, now I did manage to backport it, in a very interesting way, by tricking firefox into using the included version of the default theme (with the changes for apple HIG compliance) instead of the one included with FF itself. The XPI is available at http://kernel.ws/~puto/djgm-apple.xpi :)

(A small word of advice: Never use this version of the toolbar on a non-Mac system. You could get very unexpected results, including this!
