fixed background

Postby thewolf » Sun 05 Feb, 2006 1:50 pm

hi:
i been looking for code that will fix my background pictures in old netscape 4.x browsers. i have found code for netscape 7.x, but it doesnt seem to work for the older version of netscape.
before i post my code, i found out the code i have now is part of css, which in a way makes it a hack code. also if you can help me out, can you type out what i need to do with the code please?
also the reason why i want to do this is because i want to make my sites compatable with all browsers, or at least as much as i can.

[tt]<body style="background-attachment: fixed;
background-repeat:no-repeat; bgproperties="fixed"
leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" background="gameimages/family_bug.jpg"
link="#4040FF" alink="#4040FF" vlink="#4040FF">[/tt]

I am afraid, you can't, (not directly at least).
The [tt]background-attachment: fixed;[tt] [tt]background-repeat:no-repeat;[tt] are not supported by Communicator. I'd suggest you save your energy by not doing this in Communicator. If you really want to do so, you will need to use Layer technology, and put all your content in a layout (and hence create your custom scroller.

Hope this helps.
