PearPC, MacBochs, and mathematical successions :-)

Assuming the following succession:

Code: Select all
a(1) = PearPC* running in a 486
a(n) = PearPC running in MacBochs*, running in a(n-1)

Questions:

1) How long would it take to install Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger", upgrade to v10.4.4, and install all security updates available, in [tt]a(30)[/tt]?

2) What is the limit of this succession,
Code: Select all
Lim a(n)
n->+∞

3) Similar to question 1, but install all security updates and upgrade all installations of Windows and Mac OS X running in each of the emulated systems, as well as the 486. Consider that all MacBochs systems, as well as the 486, are running a vanilla unpatched Windows NT 4.0, with no service packs, and no updates, and that all PearPC systems are running an unpatched Mac OS X v10.4, with no security updates.

Explanations:

PearPC is a PowerPC emulator for x86 systems.
MacBochs is the slowest x86 emulator that I know of.

I suppose this all stemmed out of my 486 compiler project that I told you about, didn't it.

If you want, I'll find out for you while I'm at it. :lol:

I think it would take at least 3 weeks
