mov, mpg, avi, files converted to m4v (iPod Video)

Postby golucid » Tue 01 Nov, 2005 7:18 pm

I am attempting to convert my video collection in the following formats: mov, mpg, avi via the following technologies: quicktime, toast, MoviesForMyPod and final cut pro. I can convert the actual video footage no problem but none of the audio will transfer along with it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Also, my ipod will not recognize some of or most of: mov, mpg, avi.

Any ideas?

As for audio thing, you will need to demux the audio track from muxed track.
QuickTime can play muxed movie but can not export it.

Did you export to the supported format?
From QuickTime Pro, Export, choose Movie to iPod (320x240).

If you don't want to think about the muxing thing, which can be a problem, head to video4ipod.org.

They have an online conversion tool that makes things really easy. It takes some time to upload the file, depending on the file size, but once uploaded, it is converted in about ten minutes.

How in the world did you get such a weird useragent?
