Is the format "Unix-style mailbox files"?

I'm trying to use the program Keynote to archive messages with. There is a program called knconvert that is a companion application to KeyNote. Its purpose is to convert text files of various formats into KeyNote files.

Not familiar with Keynote. Yes, the mailbox uses Unix-style files
