In order to get Google Desktop to open in Seamonkey, my default browser, I needed to first make Firefox my default browser. Both are and have been set for direct connection to the Internet.

Has anyone else tried this, and what does it imply about Seamonkey's relationship to Firefox.

I proved ths out by removing Firefox, and then makeing IE the default. So, Google Destop opened in I.E. When I then, without Firefox installed, made Seamonkey my default, Google Desktop still opened in I.E.

I re-installed Firefox and made it my default. Then, Google Sektop opened in Firefox. Then, I made Seamonky again my default, and, sure enough, Google Desktop opened in Seamonkey.

What's up with this?

I have also posted this query in the Mozillazine forum for Seamonkey. I trust that this is not a problem.

I don't think that there is a problem, because the two newsgroups are unrelated, and also because the entire thing is so crazy, that may be someone may come out with an answer.
