Different loading of Forum Index

Postby beanboy89 » Wed 27 Sep, 2006 5:28 pm

Today, I noticed that the forum index of the Message Centre loads differently that it did previously. Before, the forum index would load the entire page in order, from top to bottom. Now I notice that the bottom "Free Music" table loads first, then slides to the bottom of the page as the links to the forums load or appear to slide in from the right.

I assume this is by design, but the current implementation seems a bit jumpy for me. Anyone else notice this?

I noticed this too. I'm not too fond of the design, and I have a feeling it'll break some older browsers. For some reason I can't log in with Netscape 4, so I can't try it right now.

Furthermore, my Master Password entry dialog will come up before the forums load, which make things look a bit weird.

Interesting effect I get with Safari:

SD701 Index on Safari (encoded with H.264, QuickTime, VLC, MPlayer or FFDShow recommended).

Ghosting of the forum logo halfway across the page is definitely an interesting effect.

Here's my version. (encoded with WMV9 screen profile, which isn't one of the standardized profiles, so this probably won't run on Flip4Mac or anything)

And here's my take on it. (encoded with Windows Media Video 9)

Congratulations on acquiring Snapz X Pro.

Snapz X Pro is not a freeware.

It's more likely to be broken in some unethical browsers.

It does not even work with Microsoft's very own Windows Media Player.

Sorry for the jumpy. I will see if I can remove the jumpy thing.

You're right, it's not freeware, it's a free 30-day trial, and my trial isn't over yet, specially when it only counts the days where I actually use the thing. By the way, the program is called "Snapz Pro X", not "Snapz X Pro" ;)

What version? It doesn't work on the Mac one, that's too old.

Old? Geez, you are really into the latest of everything.

Not even on Microsoft's own Windows Media Player on Windows, if you want to know.

Works for me in Windows Media Player 10 and 11 beta.

I don't care for the jumpy effect (Mozilla 1.7.13), but I do not consider it a major problem.
[Edit: Seems better when I re-checked it just now.]

All the videos seems to work for me.

What's wrong with living on the bleeding edge a bit, if you can output a file a mere 54k at 800x600 resolution, and have it look nice?

Update your codec package, you're probably using the one that came with XP. (Get the latest.)

This is the official video clip showing the new effects used in SillyDog701 Message Centre front door. It's the sharpest video clip so far.

(click above image to watch the video clip)

The video clip is encoded with state-of-the-art video codec H.264, which delivers stunning quality at remarkably low data rates. QuickTime Player 7 (free) is recommended for watching the video.

How do you know that if you can't watch mine?

Presenting the H.264 clip.

Presenting the Windows Media 9 Screen clip, nearly 75% smaller. Direct link, as resizing to 550x413 would cause it to blur. I forgot to mention, the H.264 is only 512x288, while the WMV9 Screen is 800x600.
