How to add the GO button.

Postby monish » Fri 14 Apr, 2006 5:03 pm

I used to be able to check a box for a "GO" button to appear on the right of the address bar. Does anyone know how I can do that with netscape 8.1. instead of pressing enter every time.

Why do you want the (totally pointless) "Go" button there at all? Pressing the Enter key is much easier.

Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

I agree with DJGM that it is pointless, because you don't gain anything by having it, and it takes space, but, I happen to have a Go button to the right of the URL box. Which theme do you use? May be it does not have the button, or you may be able to find it in the View|Toolbars|Customize. I would not know where, because I have it. It could be in the Navigational tab.

I still need the GO button.

Please help if anyone knows how to add the GO button. Also as I add links to my personal toolbar the new ones are not shown to the right of the toolbar. They just disappear. Netscape is very weird and weird things happens to it all the time. Unfortunately there is little knowledge on the net on how it works.

I have Aluminum Alloy Theme in Netscape and the go button is there on the main search bar. On the little search bar the search button is there.

It seems that NS deliberately removed the GO button from the default Winscape theme in 8.1.

It is available in all other themes, such as Aluminium Alloy as mentioned previously.

if you really want a Go button in Winscape, install one of Sailfish's Winscape based Themes - these are the same as the NS ones, but with support for toggling the NS8 Main Menu into the Windows Titlebar.

Winscape T-Top Primal uses the old 8.0.4 Winscape Icons and hence supports a GO button as standard..

if you want a GO button in Winscape T-Top (Winscape 8.1 icons) Then follow his instructions here to enable things.
