To see real icons next to bookmarks in Seamonkey

Postby richard mitnick » Mon 20 Mar, 2006 3:22 pm

I already posted this in Seamonkey Builds in the Mozillazine forums. But, for those who do not go there:

My friend and I were discussing the fact that Firefox will cache real icons for bookmarks, but Seamonkey does not do this by default. So, I went into Seamonkey General and asked for help. The below two changes to about:config came back very fast.

Set [tt]browser.chrome.favicons[/tt] to [tt]true[/tt]
give [tt]browser.chrome.load_toolbar_icons[/tt] a value of [tt]2[/tt]

This works very nicely.

Thanks Richard.

It's usually called "favicon".

Fvaicons in Seamonkey

Postby richard mitnick » Tue 21 Mar, 2006 3:23 am

Antony-

Thanks for the help. I know the word "favicon", and had figurednoutthe first toggle by myself.

You know, even some folks who might come here for help might not know the word. But everyone knows the word "icon", so that is why I used it.

I posted a suggestion in Seamonkey Features at Mozillazine Forums that this be the default.

I hope that yu are having good weather.

I agree. Just a suggestion, "website icon" might be slightly better.
