Has anyone tried a Seamonkey1.5a nighly, lately

Postby Fulvio » Thu 30 Mar, 2006 10:08 pm

I have been downloading .zip files, every three days for 1.5a, although I see little point of doing it. It has been good, and stable for months, but still "a".
I don't like to use an installer for something which may not continue.
I tried a new .zip file, yesterday, and my unzipping program, Stuffit for Windows, which has always worked smoothly, could not unzip the file, saying that it was the wrong format. same thing today. I tried Winzip, and it gave me an "unexpected" error (does anyone expect errors?).
Has anyone tried this thing? The 3-25 nightly was working fine.

The problem continues. I noticed that the .zip files were incomplete. Four different downloads yielded 8.2 to 9.5 MB of the assumed about 11MB.
All files gave a corrupted or similar alert, and would not open.
Then, I tried the installer, supposedly 12MB, and it came out 10MB, and went nowhere.
Finally, stubbornly, I tried, agian the .zip, and it was fine. Go figure!

I haven't tried any of the nightlies for a good month because I'm waiting for a particular bug to be fixed.
