This release is a recommended security upgrade for users of Opera for Windows.

Changes since 8.53
Security

Upgraded Opera's bundled version of Flash to 7.0.63.0 to address vulnerability described in Secunia Advisory 19218

Miscellaneous

Fixed problem with e-mail messages not opening in Gmail.
Fixed stability issue reported by SEC-Consult Unternehmensberatung GmbH.

Thanks. I generally use FF but several weeks (months... I guess) ago I downloaded the Opera 9 beta. It has been rock-steady so I can't see any advantage is heading back to 8.54. But thanks, as Antony mentioned, for the update.

We can't force everybody to use the latest version of software.
