a very aggravating problem

hey,
i had a thunderstorm this morning, and in fear of getting my computer blown out, i quickly unplugged everything first thing when i woke up. my ipod was charging on my powerbook g4 and i accidentally unplugged it without thinking.

later, itunes refused to open for me, saying it had been "disabled or locked." i checked permissions and all was fine there, and could find no way to "unlock" it, so i figured i'd delete and reinstall it. i got rid of the itunes i had, then got an installer for itunes 6 on apple.com. all was going well until at the point where you choose which parts of the installer you want to install: all choices were faded and read "Disabled" - i could not click any of them, and the installation process could not begin. hence, i am now itunes-less, and i have no idea how to get it back. anyone have any idea as to what could do the trick??

Quit the iTunes completely, and restart your PowerBook G4.

You shouldn't have deleted the iTunes. Most likely, deleting your iTunes plist file will do.
