Netscape Webmail Won't Let Me Connect

Postby lynwlms » Mon 22 May, 2006 9:31 am

As of yesterday, I'm using Thunderbird. All info from NS mail transferred fine. Now I keep getting this error message when trying to access my 2 different webmail accounts.....Failed to connect to server imap.mail.netcenter.com. I've read the archives but don't see where this problem has been resolved? This really isn't a new problem as it's happened almost daily for months now. But this time I haven't been able to access either inbox for over a day. I've been to the website and read mail there. Any fix for this?
Thanks
Lynn

Many previous Netscape6/7 users assume that because you could set up Netscape Webmail in the mail client part of Netscape, that it should work with other mail clients. Not so. Netscape6/7 are the exception. It is possible to set up Netscape Webmail and other webmails in Thunderbird and other mail clients using a a third party software, called freePOPs. It had worked for me, but I, hardly, use Netscape Webmail.
Webmail means website. It should work there.

Lynn,
as you may have noticed, you must be able to send with a SNTP other than the webmail. I use my ISP SMTP. Direct use of the webmail smtp, usually, fails.
I have set up Yahoo and Lycos webmails, beside two Netscape accounts using freePOPs.
