Hi, I just installed garageband 3 on my mac and I am having trouble trying to get it to open. When I click on the program, it doesnt open at all and I dont know what is going on.. Please help!

Try deleting Garageband 3's plist file from your preference folder. You should be able to open it.

[tt]~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.garageband.plist[/tt]
and
[tt]~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.garageband.cs[/tt]

[tt]~[/tt] denotes your personal home folder.
