new Yahoo! (homepage) supports MSIE 6 and Firefox 1.5

Similar to another thread on [sdt=11232]new Yahoo! Mail beta[/sdt], the public preview of the new Yahoo! site currently does NOT support Safari web browser.

However, a company representative told The Mac Observer that she is pretty sure Safari support will be added during the preview phase, and it will definitely be there once the new home page launches later this summer.

The Mac Observer also tested that the beta version of Yahoo! homepage currently does not support OmniWeb, Opera, or Camino in addition to our beloved Safari. The new Yahoo! works correctly in Firefox, The Mac Observer noted.

Was there really any need to start this new thread, when the matter about Yahoo's browser support is
already being discussed in the other thread? Therefore, this thread is pointless, and should be locked.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

I sensed some over reacting, but here you have it. I am sorry that when starting this thread, I forgot the same discussion was available under a thread titled "New Yahoo Mail Beta - SeaMonkey blocked . . .", I thought it was for Yahoo! Mail only.

I agree with Antony. I did respond to the other thread, with a caveat that I did not have Yahoo Mail, which was not available when I tried to sign up.
The homepage is another, and strange issue. Someone at the Netscape Browser newsgroup reported that the new Yahoo homepage was not available in NS8.1 in either Firefox or IE views. I checked NS8.1, Seamonkey1.0.1, and even Firefox2.0a2, and had no problems.

As of tonight, the new Preview now loads with SeaMonkey 1.0.2 (Linux). :)

It's still not working in the SeaMonkey branch nightlys.

I think it's the version number. I am using the latest 1.8.0 build (20060608) of 1.0.2 and the page comes up fine.
