Mozilla Firefox1.5.0.6 is released

Postby Fulvio » Wed 02 Aug, 2006 9:16 pm

The update is available at mozilla.com. No information on it is posted but mozillazine tells that it fixes a WMP plugin regression.
Incremental update is available. It may break some extention. I had to get help from Mr Tech Local Install to make my beloved firesomething, compatible

Thanks for the message.

Over another forum with the reporting of Windows Media Player Regression. I noticed the problem does not occur to Mac users. Mac users of Firefox 1.5.0.5 can play Windows Media content as usual.

If the update is only for Windows, then Mac and Linux users might as well stay with 1.5.0.5.

EDIT: The problem actually seems to be with streamable MMS content, so Mac users should update. Linux users probably shouldn't bother, since I don't think there's any MMS-capable plugin for linux anyway.

I mentioned at another forum that I had not noticed any problem in Windows.
Reason: I am using the MediaPlayerConnectivity extention, which shunts streamable content from an embedded player, directly to WMP. Since I am going through the extention, I should not have any problem, and never noticed it.

Did you enable "Create streaming movies" in Flip4Mac WMV's preference setting?
