Donzilla 1.0.2 Released

Postby Don_HH2K » Sat 30 Sep, 2006 10:59 am

I know it's a bit late for this, since Seamonkey 1.0.5 came out nearly two weeks ago, but I guess it's better late than never to release a Donzilla 1.0.2 based on Seamonkey 1.0.5.

A Mac build should be out soon.

1.1 hasn't released yet, and it probably won't until Seamonkey is 64-bit-capable (as that's a feature I hope to add), or until something else noteworthy enough to merit the number change happens.

Any notes on the difference?

Also, the links do not work under command line. Direct link would make things a lot easier.

This is only a maintenance release, so there aren't any new "features", rather, everything's been updated for security purposes, bufixes, and the like.

The reason I don't use direct links is that most sites rarely update their download links. When everything's processed through a script (such as download.asp in this case), you always get the latest build available.

Interesting.

When I clicked for "Release Notes", it showed me this page: http://hh2k.homelinux.org/?main=DONZILLA.asp which was not a Release Notes page, not even a Donzilla page.

Interesting findings in following screenshot:

(Can't see the image above? Your browser has just blocked an innocent image unethically.)

I thought Donzilla has it's own icon, but I was wrong.

Now those are both interesting. The old URL doesn't work anymore (I guess I forgot to correct those awhile back).

And I have absolutely no idea how you got the SD701 link to go to mozillaZine. I'm looking at the default bookmarks.html now, and they link to http://sillydog.org, not http://www.mozillazine.org. Try deleting/recreating your Donzilla profile, it might be leftover in there from one of the testing (pre-1.0) builds that actually did have that problem.

I actually tried out SM 1.1a as well as SM 1.1b and discovered an issue in their Windows releases pertaining to the refreshment of the newsgroups listing which was extremely show, it shouldn't take 10 minutes to refresh the list on a 6 Mbps connection. This wasn't an issue with the Linux releases.

Went back to 1.0.5 for Windows and the same refresh took 2 minutes.

SeaMonkey still uses the old Navigator icons.

They really need to change this to the new blue image.

I won't change the profile setting then make a spectacle of myself.

It's not a "profile setting", it's that you have a broken bookmarks file from what I think is Donzilla 0.8.x. Make a new profile and it'll be fine.

So back in Donzilla 0.8.x, the label "SillyDog701" actually goes to http://www.mozillazine.org/ ?

Yes, it was a mistake that has since been corrected.

The Mac build is now available here as a Universal Binary in .dmg format.

If this link is Donzilla's home page, the information hasn't been updated. Still mentions Donzilla 1.0.1.

I am really surprised to note that Donzilla has been tested on Mac OS X 10.5.

Thanks, I will correct this as soon as I can.

I wasn't the one that tested it on the Leopard pre-release 10.5, you know.

Actually, Donzilla 1.0.1 wasn't tested on 10.5... that was probably a typo.
