If you want to ensure that SeaMonkey doesn't pick up your Netscape Profile:
First:
Create a new folder on the C: drive and name it
Backup
Next:
Browse to the Profiles folder located here:
[tt]C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\
Profiles[/tt]
Right click the Profiles folder, and select
Copy
Then go to the newly created
Backup folder, right click, and select
Paste
Now you have a backup of your Profiles folder. Do this frequently as a preventive maintenance task.
Now:
Ensuring that SeaMonkey doesn't pick up the Netscape Profile:
Return to the
Profiles folder
Open the folder and right click the
Netscape Profile which is similar to this:
[tt]C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Netscpe\Profiles\
your_profile_name[/tt]
Select:
Cut
Next: right click the
Backup folder and select
Paste
Install SeaMonkey, and it will create its own Profile folder.
Once installed, you can then copy the Netscape Profile from the Backup folder, and paste it into the Profiles folder.
