Adobe Systems released Adobe Acrobat 8 today. This new version of software enables users to create, editing and viewing PDF documents is the third Universal Application from Adobe I noticed (after Flash Player, Lightroom Beta). Acrobat 8 includes new tools to combine multiple PDFs, create PDF packages from multiple documents, collaborate on document reviews, preflight and fix problem documents, remotely display presentations and view other user's desktops, and more.

Adobe also announced a web-based service called Acrobat Connect. This collaborate service allows Acrobat users work together in "always on" meeting rooms through a web interface.
