Adobe flash plug in version 6

Postby sjfarris » Wed 15 Nov, 2006 6:55 pm

I use Netscape 7.1. I have Windows XP. I also have Norton Systemworks. My problem is, when I go to a certain website, it tells me that I need to "have Flash plug in version 6 or higher for this presentation. Click here to download the proper Flash plug in player" So I did this. Then I check on the Adobe site if it is installed properly, and it is. So I go back to the website and it tells me the same error as I stated above. I also have Firefox, which it works on. I also have IE (which I don't like to use), which it also works on. I downloaded Netscape 8.1, and it does not work there. I have used this website before with no problem with Netscape 7.1. I did have Norton Systemworks renewed. I don't know if this has anything to do with this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you want to use NS because it has the mail client included, I would install SeaMonkey and get rid of NS. SeaMonkey is in continuous development while NS is not. I presume that if you try SeaMonkey, the sites will work properly. One other thing to try if you do not want to go the SeaMonkey route is to create a new profile and see if the sites work properly using the new profile. If so, then all you have to do is copy your bookmarks, passwords, mail, etc. to the new profile folder and get rid of the old profile.

In addition to humpd's message, click here to get SeaMonkey.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

You, probably, got it, but the download site is here. Were you using that site?
