I download everything to my desktop and then I put it in a downloads folder in my documents.
The Solutions page will work for SeaMonkey also, even tho it says Netscape/Mozilla. Guess I should update it to include Seamonkey!
THe url you give to dl Seamonkey doesn't have any dowmloads in it. It has something called Parent Directory and a whole list of things but doesn't say what is a download for the new Seamonkey.
The SeaMonkey download on that page, is for Windows, Mac, and Linux. There are two downloads for Windows, a Zip file, and an .exe file:
Executable: seamonkey-1.0.6.en-US.
win32.installer.exeZip: seamonkey-1.0.6.en-US.
win32.zipI cannot find any slt files in Seamonkey.
I found the download somewhere else...can I install it right over this Seamonkey 1.0.1? I don't want to lose all my mail for the third time.
I would definitely not install over 1.0.1, there have been several updates since then and some of the older files won't be compatible.
If you back up before uninstall/reinstalling you
can't lose anything.
The profile for Seamonkey is still on my desktop instead of in mozilla profiles and it doesn't have a cache for some reason so I delete the cache from edit/prefs/advanced/cache.
Your SeaMonkey Profiles folder should be located here:
[tt]C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\\Application Data\Mozilla\
Profiles[/tt]
I would move the Profiles folder from the Desktop and place it in the Mozilla folder:
[tt]C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\\Application Data\
Mozilla[/tt] folder.
That is no doubt why there is no *.slt folder, and with no *.slt folder there can be no Cache folder. I'm surprised that you Mail worked at all, unless your Server settings pointed to the Desktop.
