Mac OS X is smart

Mac OS X is smart.

There's no need to show the options to the users if they don't have the device or won't be able to perform certain tasks.

Earlier I've noticed that once I plugged the WACOM Graphics Tablet, the System Preferences shows two new options...
Ink (for Inkwell) and Pen Tablet.

Inkwell is Mac OS X's built-in hand-writing recognising software. The option will be available once you plug in a Graphics Tablet.

And recently, I noticed another option I haven't seen before... "High Definition".

My previous Macs do not have "High Definition" (HD) display, thanks to my new iMac, the display can display High Definition natively (without scaling).
