Outlook XP contact database won't print double sided

Postby richard mitnick » Mon 15 Jan, 2007 4:45 pm

O.K., here is a good one.

I have a number of contact lists in Outlook XP. Two of them I need to be able to print out into booklets double sided. One splits 8-1/2" x 11" paper into two 5-1/2"x 8-1/2" pages, ie, each sheet has two "pages" per side. I have access to two inkjets and one laser printer that have double-sided printing. The inkjets are HP 5150 at work and 5650 at home. The laser jet is Samsung ML-2010.

This file has 446 contacts. I have tried on the three printers with my work computer and one of the inkjets printers with my home computer. The best result that I had was on the home computer with the home inkjet, the 5650. That resulted in all good pages except the letters L and M, where the pagination seemed to overlap, such that a page in the low fifties was on the back of a page in the forties.

The laser jet at work went into heart failure every time it finished printing the first side. It went into printer error and I needed to turn it off, so no second side. The inkjet at work just printed jibberish, blots of ink. When I tried just the letters L and M, I got good printing, but not with the right pagination.

So, SillyDog folks- any ideas???

Richard,
I always print multipage documents this way: first page 1 to 1, then turn the sheet, and print 2 to 3. Now, pages 1 and 2 are in one sheet. Then 3 to 4, etc. It takes time but it works. I can do a more efficient job with .pdf file. I print first all odd page, then turn them around, and print even pages. I don't know a thing about Outlook, but here you have two options to look for.
