Skype 2.5 for Mac released

After a few months of beta testing, Skype for Mac version 2.5 officially released to the public today. The new version of the online chat and conferencing application supports SMS messaging to mobile phones, conference calls with up to nine other people, and a birthday tracker for the people in Skype contact list.

Skype for Mac 2.5 is free, and available for download at the Skype website.

Since Skype for Mac 2.0, Skype supports Video conference calls on Mac and started to gain its usage in Mac community.

Skype for Mac requires Mac computer with G4 800 Mhz processor or faster, Mac OS X 10.3.9, broadband, and a compatible webcam such as Apple iSight, Philips SPC900NC, or Logitech QuickCam Pro 400.
