Strange behavior of Firefox

Postby Fulvio » Sun 25 Feb, 2007 2:42 pm

The strangest behavior has been with 1.5.0.10, although 2.0.0.2 has contributed, somewhat.
I have had no problem till this morning carrying the two browsers, with their own profiles.
Today, I could not start either. But, i could start Seamonkey1.1, normally.
I, finally, decided to take a look at the processes in the Windows Task Manager, and I saw two firefox.exe entries, much less than normal (2 and 25 MB, instead of the present 42MB). This has never happened before, and after deleting the two entries, I was able to start 1.5.0.10.
Any idea why this sudden change in behavior?

Cannot directly answer this. But is XP Hibernation at all involved? I've had several instances of an hibernated FF going to 99% soon after waking up. Always multiple windows/tabs were involved. I had to End Process FF to recover functionality.

Just started the computer in AM. As for Tabs, I cut down to three with 1.5.0.10, and two with 2.0.0.2. I have six in Seamonkey1.1, which really zooms.
By the way the problem has not reoccurred since yesterday. I started with 2.0.0.2, then closed it, and, now I am using 1.5.0.10. I, usually, shutdown the computer when I am not using for over 30 min. I was what appears to be a one time aberration.
