This is huge.

[quote]CUPERTINO, California—April 9, 2007—Apple® today announced that the 100 millionth iPod® has been sold, making the iPod the fastest selling music player in history. The first iPod was sold five and a half years ago, in November 2001, and since then Apple has introduced more than 10 new iPod models, including five generations of iPod, two generations of iPod mini, two generations of iPod nano and two generations of iPod shuffle. Along with iTunes® and the iTunes online music store, the iPod has transformed how tens of millions of music lovers acquire, manage and listen to their music.

“At this historic milestone, we want to thank music lovers everywhere for making iPod such an incredible success,â€

And to think, Logitech took nearly fifteen years to sell a hundred million mice. Not bad statistics.

Shall I draw a conclusion that the average price for Logitech mice is a bit too high?

Congratulations Apple.

Maybe. I haven't priced a Logitech mouse anytime lately, and the latest one I do have is a three-button serial mouse from the DOS era.

Consider, though: most people usually get a mouse once, and it comes with their PC. On the other hand, PCs don't come with portable media players.

Well, I've purchased at least 5 Logitech mice.

Sorry, I can't resist saying this.

WOW! You are rich! You can afford 5 expensive Logitech mice! (which you yourself said, the average price is a bit too high)

Five mice, just from Logitech? As in, that isn't even counting mice by any other manufacturer?

I don't have five mice, period. I only have three (a Microsoft Serial Mouse, Gateway Trekker PS/2, and Genius NetScroll+ PS/2), none of which I actually paid for.

Not counting any Apple mice or other mice I bought. The first Logitech mouse I bought was back in 1997 or 98.
