Buggiest browser ever. It can't even render SD701 right.

i like the font smoothing, you're right though it's a bit buggy at the moment.

is it possible to use mouse gestures and block adverts in safari ?

also, you can't seem to use a proxy server at the moment.

Well... I'm tempted but your caution on it being buggy has made me hesitate. In what respect is it buggy? How difficult would it be to entirely eradicate it (without messing with the registry) should it prove troublesome? I took the "tour" and I curious about the claim that it renders pages considerably faster than FF, IE and Opera. How did you find this claim?

I was never prompted to import settings. All my bookmarks folders are empty, and there is no way to type in the URL bar. Other than that I get the Apple page. I thought that they may give a minimum of guidance. May be there is something which I missed, but there is not much to see. Toolbars are totally empty.

it's actually very slow, i've had a look at a couple of other forums and other users experience the same thing, memory usage is high and you can't use a proxy.

not bad though, font rendering is lovely, interface is a bit sluggish but it is a beta so it will get better, this is quite an exciting development- it makes mozilla and microsoft raise the bar - we all benefit from this.

also, page rendering is a bit funny sometimes, it's almost as though it isn't using the stylesheet on some pages.

That being the case, I'll forego the experiment and watch from the sidelines. Discretion is the better part of valor... eh?!

Well, apparently, I found the problem. It seems that Safari/win doesn't render bold text at all, making therefore half the text on pretty much any page disappear.

Well, I am not going to encounter any pf the problems you folks had, because on my Vista Business machine it would not even install. It encountered Error 3328 or some such B.S.

From what I've read over at Neowin, page rendering seems to be incredibly buggy and the interface seems to be sluggish. I'll stay away from this for now.

I just downloaded Safari for Windows. I like it.

EDIT: For some reason it just cut off my post. :-\

Beta? From everything I've heard about the Windows version, it doesn't deserve the "beta" designation. Realistically, it could be called an alpha or pre-alpha, IMO.
