IBM announced its office suite - Lotus Symphony - for free. IBM Lotus Symphony consists of Lotus Symphony Documents, Lotus Symphony Spreadsheets and Lotus Symphony Presentations.

Lotus Symphony is based on the Open Document Format (ODF) and supports popular file formats, plus built-in ability to convert documents to Adobe PDF.

Lotus Symphony currently support Windows and Linux platforms, and Mac OS X support is planned.

IBM recently announced plans to join the OpenOffice.org (OO.o) project.
