The SeaMonkey Project has released SeaMonkey 1.1.6 for Linux, MacOS, and Windows (32 bit). There is also a contributed build for OS/2 available.

It can be downloaded from http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/

Thanks for the heads-up, Edward.

SeaMonkey 1.1.6 seems to be more responsive than Firefox 2.0.0.9 on my Mac running Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard.

Good to know that there are still people maintaining OS/2.

Will we have a new Donzilla?

I just put SM 1.1.6 on a computer that had no previous installation.

I want to put Colorful Tabs on it, and I get "No installation script".

I have Colorful Tabs on a computer that had SM 1.1.4 first with Colorful Tabs.

Any help?

Also-

Since I just went through a horrendous time with FF and saving form data-

It seems that SM does not save form data which would allow the same autocomplete that I wanted and got back to in FF.

I have not had SM installed since probably 1.1.4 and the advent of N9. But I don't remember this being a problem, and for me, lazy me, this would have been a biggie.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get SM to save form data to autocomplete forms?

SeaMonkey should save form data. Go to; Edit / Preferences / Privacy & Security / Forms / Form Manager

There should be a check box to; "Save form data from web pages when completing forms"

Dave.

Hi, thanks, yes, it is checked.

What should happen, which happens in IE7, FF, and N9, is, I go to my ISP's web mail utility, I send an email to my blind Yahoo! mail that I use for such testing, I Bcc to myself at home and at work. Then I close out of SM. I re-launch, and I should find them saved such that I type only the first letter. If it works, there, it is good for the session.

Then, I should be able to re-boot and they should still work.

So, I am going to try it and let you know.

Hey,

I'm back.

O.K., I figured out how it works.

On the edit menu, one needs after filling the form to click on Edit|Save Form Data. You do this for everyone who is not yet saved (form data, not religiously "saved". Please forgive the un-intended pun).

Then, the next time one goes to that form, one first clicks on Fill In Form.

So, yes, it works, because I did try it and it did work.

But, boy oh boy, that is herky-jerky compared to the other browsers.
This really needs to get updated.

Thanks for your assistance, I hope you are having good weather.

Hello Richard,

I'm pleased to hear that you figured it out!

I don't use web-based email so I've never done what you described in your first reply.

If I fill in a form on a website, when I click on 'Send' (or whatever it's named!), I'm asked if I want to save the data. I don't think I ever have, to the best of my recollection!

...(form data, not religiously "saved"...

LOL!

The weather here is typical for the time of year - chilly with some rain/wind and occasional sunny spells.

Regards,

Dave.
