Unless NeoPlanet did something recently, the last time I used their software (which was a couple of years ago), it was more or less a different-looking front-end for Internet Explorer. It used IE's rendering engine to display pages, but the rest of the browser (icons, e-mail program) were NeoPlanet.

Long ago, they used to say they were working on a Netscape version of Neoplanet. This is back in the 4.x days, and I used to check their site frequently because I rather liked the idea of a skinnable browser based on Netscape. I don't remember when this happened, but one day I looked, and all reference to a promised Netscape variant was gone, vanished, and I've never seen any mention of it again.

But now with the source released (a la Gecko), NeoPlanet ought to do something. I wouldn't mind seeing a NeoPlanet browser based on Gecko.

According to this page, it is compatible with IE 4 and 5.5+, but makes no mention of Windows XP.

The Strouds download page for NeoPlanet, offers a link to neozilla.exe, it's description only shows it offers compatibility with Netscape 6.
