SeaMonkey won't forward images

Postby earlex44 » Tue 29 Jan, 2008 12:32 pm

SeaMonkey 1.1.7 (on Win2K+SP4) receives email with attached (inline) photos or other images.

When forwarding or replying, the photos/images appear on the message to be sent, but do not appear when the message is received at the other end.

What should I do?

I use the SM browser sometimes, but not the mail. When you open mail, is it on your computer or is it web mail?

You can try saving the images instead of opening them. Then, if you can save them to your HDD (e.g., in C:\Temp) then try to open them with your image editor.

Try using Reply rather than Forward to completely retain the complete message, including images.

Ensure that you replace the original sender with the intended recipient.

Let us know if this helps.

SeaMonkey won't forward images

Postby earlex44 » Tue 29 Jan, 2008 6:21 pm

Neither Forward, Reply, Reply All preserve the photos/images on the
received email. However, what does work is to use "Save As" on
the original incoming email. I save it to Desktop and then attach to a
new message.

That solves the problem. Thanks mitnick.
