For the record, I had PMed Richard Mitnick:

Concerning paragraph 1, item 2.) - on tabbed browsing.

I don't have NN9, so can't compare. Is this different than what one can set up in FF on the Tools > Options > Tabs ?

I didn't want to post this on the thread since it really is irrelevant to NN9.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Richard replied:

I cannot really answer your question. When I installed NN9, the tabbing just worked way better than in FF2. None of us could figure it out, and no one at Netscape was forthcoming.

I have since discovered-it was their all of the time, right click on the link and click on
Open Link in New Tab, so now it is moot.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
He is correct - that is one way, and the way I use frequently, but not always.
The simpler way, if one wants it to be the default upon clicking, is to go to
Tools > Options > Tabs
and set the option "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately"
(Note also that there are other controls on that panel.)

So this invites the question: Does NN9 have a similar {Tools/Options/Tabs} method of controlling the way that links open? How about SeaMonkey? Other browsers?
