No.

Sweat is not just a few minutes. You would have to carry that (sticky body) for the rest of the day. Also insect bites aren't funny, some are really itchy.

Sadly, we are not far enough north to not have to deal with those.

I don't know about you Don, but there are a lot of insects in Pulaski and in Red Creek.

Can you say HEATWAVE?! For the past week we've had nothing lower than 35C here. Most days have been hotter than that, reaching 38C most days with one particularly scorching 42C. We're due for another round of 35C tomorrow before getting some mild reprieve with temperatures in the high 20s and low 30s for the remainder of the week.

Thank god that the very very hot summer is coming to end.

We've had the hottest summer (and wettest as well) for the last four years. Sydney has been very humid which makes people feel uncomfortable, particularly for those who do not have an aircon.

Up north in Queensland: flooding.
Down south in Victoria: hailstorm.

Here in Sydney: hot and humid, but I guess I shouldn't complain.

Hot, hot, hot still.

29.5°C yesterday, and right now, 33.9°C (temperature outside measured under the shade).

It feels more like summer than autumn.

Don't we all wish to have some beautiful snow?

Heavy Rain

Postby Mandrake » Mon 22 Mar, 2010 11:34 pm

We haven't any snow here but we had an INSANE storm yesterday, Antony may have seen or read about it in the news.

Extremely heavy rain, wind speeds that weren't far from knocking you over, hail the size of golf balls, stacks of lightning - we pretty much had it all. Some of the roads were partially flooded out bits of tree broken off by wind and lightning were on the roads, the University of WA suffered flooding, several schools are closed because of severe damage. Power outages were also very common, many of the traffic lights and most of the lights along the sides of the roads were off. I was lucky, my power went off for a few minutes intermittently but there were never any long term outages here. I even read that things were so severe that the roof came off at one K-Mart store!

There are stacks of photos and comments about the storm in this facebook group. There's no need to register to view the pictures.

Geeze... I went to that Facebook site and watched the video of the golf ball-sized hail hitting the car. Must have been some storm. Hope there wasn't too much damage at your place.

Well, let's see. It was snowing earlier in the week, stifling hot, and now it's mild (50F) and windy.

Welcome to upstate new york.

It's way to hot here. About 90. I really, really dislike hot weather.
