Richard - concerning the form autofill [sdp=92158]problem[/sdp], some thoughts.
1. Is there any difference in any AV products or their settings?
2. I would think that your comparison of the about:config's would have found anything here, but --- The settings for this appears to be in
- Tools > Options > (tab) Privacy >
-- (section) History, 2nd check box; and
-- (section) Private Data > (button) Settings.
3. In the Profile there is a file,
formhistory.dat; looking at it with an editor, it is another. 'mdb'-format file. I wouldn't be at all surprised if some other file (key3.db?) also is tied in. So you could, should you be so inclined, experiment . (If your editor has the capability, you can strip out all the '$00' strings; this will leave textual material that is somewhat readable. Notepad will do this, albeit slowly. Just remember not to Save the stripped file!)
4. In reading about FF3, at some point I
think that I read that some of these internal files have been changed to a different technology. I may be mis-remembering, or, Forms may not have been changed. I'll have to look that up again some time. No commitments.
5. There also appear to be at least two, possibly more, ways for sites to code the fill-in fields. I've run across a discussion concerning the security aspects of the different methods. It is possible (my speculation) that FF3 has been modified to accommodate these changes, which would be in concord with the enhanced security screenings that have been incorporated.
