Apple today released Safari 3.1. Apple claims Safari 3.1 is the world’s fastest web browser for Mac and Windows PCs. In addition to loading web pages 1.9 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 and 1.7 times faster than FireFox 2, Safari 3.1 runs JavaScript up to six times faster than other browsers.
Safari is available for free download for Mac OS X and Windows.
Safari 3.1 is the first browser to support the new video and audio tags in HTML 5 and the first to support CSS Animations. Safari also supports CSS Web Fonts, giving designers limitless choices of fonts to create stunning new web sites.
Apple first released Safari 3 (public beta) to Windows users in June last year.
Safari 3.1 can be downloaded from http://www.apple.com/safari/ . The system requirement: Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later, or Windows XP or Vista with 256MB RAM or more on a 500 MHz or faster CPU.
