Right click on file, Send To, Netscape mail question

Postby MichaelJRich » Thu 18 Mar, 2010 10:04 pm

When I do what I wrote in the topic line, I get this message in the body of the email:

The message is ready to be sent with the following file or link attachments: billy_bob.wmv Note: To protect against computer viruses, e-mail programs may prevent sending or receiving certain types of file attachments. Check your e-mail security settings to determine how attachments are handled.

Where is this coming from and how can I change it?

Thanks

Mike

You say Netscape Mail. Do you mean that you, still, use the Netscape suite, which has a Mail part, or are you using some type of Netscape mail in your browser?
Or is it some other type of Mail program? and/or mail to be sent by your ISP account?
I have not used any type of Netscape mail, program or ISP, since support ended some two years ago. And, there is no setting for outgoing attachments in Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.x.
I need some more detail. .wmv is a Windows Media video format file.

Fulvio, yes indeedy I still use Netscape mail for my mail client! Love it! Was a Netscape beta tested back before dirt was invented and am just stubborn. You folks did manage to switch me over to Firefox (which I absolutley love as well.)

I'll get more info to you later tonight. Gotta run to that bowling league....

Well, that was certainly nice of me to include the link, wasn't it.

Here it is so you could understand what I could not figure out how to write:

Michael D,
I see that there are a lot of replies to your post, if it was yours. Or, whatever.
Since you tried Firefox, why not try Thunderbird, not version 3, which I, thoroughly dislike, but the very decent v.2.x.
Basically, when Firefox came out, an accompanying mail client, called Thunderbird came out.
I think that it was done to attract Microsoft users who had to have a separate Browser and Mail Client. You can import your stuff from Netscape, while installing Thunderbird.

Well, I gotta trust someone. It might as well be you good folks.

I love Firefox and I'm certain I will love Thunderbird.

Did I mention.....I dislike "change?"

Thanks for the help and off I go to my Netscape funeral. It's been a great run.

Good! By the way, I dislike change for change's sake, and I have nothing positive to say about TB3.x. The changes are, either, unimportant, or royal nuisances.

Will take you at your word and remain with TB2.

Again, I thank you and I really like TB (see, I'm already using acronyms! :D
