Are you sure that you do not mean to say "4.80" instead of "4.08"? Netscape 4.80 is a minor upgrade of 4.79. Version 4.08 would be a version earlier than any 4.7x version.

Would I gain enough by upgrading to 4.80? If so and I upgrade do I need to uninstall 4.79 or can I just download and install 4.80 over 4.79? Sorry about the extra unneeded threads. As you can see I did mean 4.80. Thanks

While talking about all the 4.79's and 4.80's I looked for 4.79 in my add/remove program and it's not there!! I ckecked everywhere that I know to look and no 4.79 netscape. If I needed yo remove it where might I find it and go about removing it. There is probably an easy answer to this but it sure escapes me. Need your help on this one. I'll stow it away slafely until I might need to make the removal. Thanks

There should be an entry for "Netscape Communicator," although it may not be labled as "Netscape Communicator 4.79" if you, in the past, used Smart Update to upgrade the browser. My entry says "Netscape Communicator 4.75" because that is the first version installed on this particular system (Win 2000). I later upgraded, using Smart Update, this to 4.79.

The Netscape 7 series will be labeled as "Netscape" with a version number behind it.

Do you have tweakui installed which might be used to delete uninstall entries? I'll take a look at my Win 98 systems tonight.

Hopefully others, like Fulvio, will help you with your Netscape 4.x questions.
