I'm a freshly coined newbie registrant at SillyDog 701, and "discovered" totally by accident! HAPPY accident, I should add.

A friend of mine had a problem with SAVING ... photos she got in the email (and other sources.) I mentioned this in the Espanglish chat room ... http://lingolex.com/chatroom2.htm ... where I hang out a lot ... and a different friend told me the secret ... go to Sillydog .. where you will find a well documented, step-by-step answer.

So I did ... and did .. and now everybody is happy. Give me a few more chances to get my feet wet here, and I'll send you my entire next week's allowance from my wife! Should let you buy a brand new (!!!!!)
floppy disk.

Maggiemae my bad puppy eats my money, and I mean literally eats it, yesterday she dined on $20.00
She also ate my bank card and my S.I.N. card.
It will cost me $10.00 to get a replacement S.I.N card.
So I guess I can say she really had a gourmet meal.
She also ruined my wallet yesterday, along with many other things in the past few months.

Usually it's something in the house that breaks but this time it's me that's broke. But when I win the Lotto I will remember your name :)

I want to say that the flowers at the top left corner are much nicer than the brown that was there previously as I couldn't see what was written under it. It' looks very nice.

What does that have to do with supporting SD701?

The post outlining a spyware problem, needs to be moved to it's own thread, either
in the Windows and Microsoft Talk forum, or the General Computing and Tech forum.

This post has been split to a new thread, "Spyware issue - ABOUT specific911.net."

Netscape Netcaster Help Please

Postby Pineapple Blue » Mon 13 Mar, 2006 9:06 am

Dear Anthony and All Cousins Across the Pond

Can anyone help please. I have just one copy left of Netcaster that I have had since 1999 - 2000 on our Cisco Systems Netscape Professional Edition known as 4.05. I alway's believed the technology too early as we were then restricted by PC technology and connectivity in respect of modems and telcom copper.

I've been testing out Netcaster and got it working on one of our servers and configured the Netcaster browser to find our server and channels. The gang at the BBC has authorised us to use BBC feeds and streams for News, Sport and Childrens Newsround.

With some design and configuration in html authoring i have managed to be able to set up pages (only in test stage bear with me) to refresh, take advertisements and the feeds.

With Broadband now and more interactivity I seriously want to put one in the eye at BG's firm and get this up and running.

However, and this is possibly the big but.

1/. Do we know who originally wrote the programme of Netcaster.
2/. Who technically owns the intellectual property and distribution rights.
3/. I never hear back or know anyone at AOL who used to be at Netscape anymore and never get a reply to my e-mails.
4/. Just need to re0write parts of the Netcaster programme to recoginise later Browser versions of Netscape. I can test it successfully on our 7.02 Professional that I customised but I think we also need to make some configurations to allow for additional plugins to identify the feeds. It finds smart technology in Java on adverts rolling and changing. It's struggling with the RSS feed from the Beeb and looking for a plugin.
5/. If anyone else is interested in setting up channels on the service and would like to help. (A) We could set it up as a project in Moz.dev , but things have gone a little quiet there and concerned about the outcome of AOL and what bearing that would have. Or do you want me to set it up in a completely new Dev Edge Team Group from one of our Servers that we may be permiited to access via Anthony's community as I always refer Silly Dog and have links to the site from our Network for our users and members.

I very much look forward to anyones help, advice and guidance.

On a personal note Anthony have we got any arhive versions on your site that I and the gang here can down load. Many, Many Thanks!

Best Wishes to you all

Alastair

Money Money Money!!

I just now saw this thread.

I have contributed several times, not because anyone asked; but, rather, because this is simply the best forum anywhere, on any group of subjects. Everyone here has been very very helpful, never with any edge.

If you want to come here, my opinion, and that is all it is, is that you should acknowledge the priviledge with a contfribution. It is not a donation, this is not a charity.

This is a service you use, and, hopefully benefit from.

Thank you Richard.

There are ways to support SillyDog701 without spending (extra). Perhaps I shall organise a page for this.

You can simply use our affiliated links when buying
  • music, movies, TV shows, Apps and games from iTunes Store,
  • ordering Apple Macs or iPods from Apple Store (Apple Store (AUS),
  • ordering invisibleSHIELDs to protect your mobile phones, mp3 players, laptops, and all sorts of gadgets.

You can support SillyDog701 at the same time without spending more.
