Mozilla 1.4b Released!

Postby profman » Wed 07 May, 2003 11:48 pm

Mozilla 1.4b may be downloaded and release notes are available.

The Mozilla.org announcement says:
Mozilla 1.4 Beta Released
Mozilla 1.4 Beta is out. This release includes support for NTLM authentication, usability improvements, and lots of performance, stability, and site compatibility fixes. More information is available in the release notes.

The Mozilla 1.3.1 release is also available over at Mozilla.org.
This follow-up to Mozilla 1.3 restores XPInstall functionality for Mac OS X users.

I doubt how many people are anticipating Moz 1.4b and 1.3.1, since Firebird 0.6 will out very soon.

I still like to use it. Am not so happy yet with the anounced changes. Making a faster and smaller browser is fine with me, but I like the many posibilities Mozilla offers in the preferences. Phoenix looks to much like IE and its not so logic placement of functions.

If you believe in using Netscape, 1.4 is the logical predecessor. As far as I understand 1.3.1 has some Mac-oriented fixes.
Phoenix/Mozilla Firebird still looks sloppy in the preferences.

No, I don't believe in using Netscape at this moment. I mainly use Mozilla, most of the time nightlies. Have done so for a couple of years now.

I hope Netscape will release next version soon, 7.02 is too old, Moz 1.4b is really faster and better.
Actually, I always shift between Moz/NS and Firebird. But recent Firebird nightly builds are too buggy. It's really hard to make a choice.
