A new look for Netscape.com . . . !

Netscape.com has undergone a behind the scenes revamp. Although the
main Netscape website still bears the look that coincided with the launch
of Netscape 7.0, you can preview the new look Netscape.com here . . .

(Check it out quick, as it may get pulled when NS realise it's gone public!)

I assume the new look Netscape.com website will be officially unveiled
to coincide with the upcoming release of the new Netscape 7.1 update.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

Thanks DJGM, that looks really nice... Certainly an improvement over the old look. Maybe we're going to be seeing 7.1 soon then, and maybe no RC1?

I checked out the new design and it looks pretty cool. Speaking of Netscape 7.1, that might come within a few months, if I'm not wrong.

I am curious to see if they change the throbber to the look that the icon has on the page DJGM referred to. The new look is nice. To me it looks a little more polished and rounded. A little bit of a 3-D look.

It does have a better look; more information/news options squeezed onto the page - tactfully.

On an ironic note however - the revamped Netscape site that contains a pop up for AOL broadband of which in system requirements it states it's 224 MB or 314 MB IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IE 6.0 ALREADY INSTALLED ! Blasphemy !

Re: The Netscape logo.

The "shiny lozenge" version of the Netscape logo used on the new
look Netscape.com homepage is the same as the application icon
used for launching the Netscape 7.x browser on Mac OS X . . .

"Shiny lozenge" really describes the look. Now that you mention it DJGM it does look MACish. I like the look, not that it is the most important thing, and would like to see it on the next release.

Unfortunately . . . Netscape.co.uk still bears the old dark blue look from 2001
and is still advertising Netscape 7.0 as new! Someone seriously needs to
give the web development team at AOL UK, a good kick up the . . . !

Re-design of web browser, re-design of netscape.com home page.

Does it sound like a company whose future is still in doubt???

BTW,.the Linux release of Netscape 7.1 - the footers still don't print!!!
