Address Book Problem

Postby Lebanesedale » Tue 29 Jul, 2003 9:55 am

When I open the address book to "add" a name, it overfills the screen and I cannot really do anything but close it. No other part oif Netscape 7.0 does this. Any ideas why and any solutions?

I am not sure exactly what you are describing. What do you mean by "overfill the screen? Do you go to NS Mail via the icon in the lower left system tray and then go to File, New, Address Book Card?

Address Book Screen Size

Postby Lebanesedale » Fri 01 Aug, 2003 8:19 pm

Yes, I believe that is what my user is doing. By overfill the screen, I mean that the window is so large that the edges are outside the viewing area of the screen. The Blue band at the top is totally out of view. My user cannot get at any menu choices or anything. Does this description help?

Most people have the Windows toolbar on top. I keep it on the bottom. That toolbar can be moved any way you want, but since it is possible that blue band of Netscape is right under the toolbar, and the minimize/maximize/close stuff is to the right, just grab that toolbar, and move it left. I did not think that it was possible, but if everything is there, and the address book page covers the entire screen, it must been maximized. The is no reason to keep it maximized. But, if the blue band is grabbable, it should pulled down., so that the Windows toolbar does not cover it, if put back. Netscape should remember the last place where the window was.

Address Book Display Problem

Postby Lebanesedale » Mon 04 Aug, 2003 9:00 pm

That's the problem. We cannot get at any part of the Blue. It is outside the top of t he screen. The window exceeds the screen on all sides.

I never saw anything so extreme. What kind of screen resolution are you using? I am using 800x600, and 15 in. monitor, and the card top is flushed with very top. If I resize from the Control Panel|Display|Settings to 1024, I get the card down quite a way, but if I go to 640x400, the top is still flushed, but I can't see the Cancel, OK. If I had the reverse with the start button at the top, I would not be able to see the blue part. This is in the Windows settings! If you have a larger monitor screen, things may get better or worse, depending which way you go.
