7.1 vs. 7.02 observations

Postby Fulvio » Fri 15 Aug, 2003 12:56 pm

1. Don't use Quick Launch if you have both 7.02 and 7.1 installed, even with different profiles.
As soon as I checked Quick Launch, I checked 7.1, and, it behaved fine. When I clicked on 7.02, I first saw the McAfee Online scanner page, and the Netscape page came, congratulating me for having installed 7.1. When I checked the Help|about NS, it showed that I had 7.1.
This odd behavior may explain one of the puzzling posts.
When, I undid the Mozilla quick launch box in msconfig|startup and restarted, I was back to normal.

2. I examined my mail settings, for Junk Controls. I had posted that my Junk Controls did not empty after the set time.
Nothing works for everyone, especially some changes are made.
I have six mail accounts, with Junk folders set to 2 days to empty. Or, it least I thought I had the settings that way.
Not quite. I had set up in such a way that all accounts send their garbage to a single folder. Nothing wrong there, except that the set times were different for the different accounts.
The Junk folders get confused, although 99% of the Junk comes from a single account. After changing all of them to 2 days, led to dump the first six pieces of junk into the Trash folder.
