One of my sales reps is having a weird problem. He installed 7.1 from netscape's site. Now once a week, he gets a message: Congratulations! Your Netscape Browser has been updated to v 7.1 and when he starts it up all his e-mail, adresses and bookmarks are gone!
and we cant find any of it in either netscape or mozilla folders. He did unchecked the auto update check in prefs. didn't help.
His OS is XP Home.
I really need this guy but if this happens again I'm afraid he is going to throw his pooter and himself out of his window.

This has happened to me when I did not pay attention at which profile I was using. Apparently, I was using the 7.1 profile for a lower version of Netscape. Basically, if there was any previous Netscape, and more than one profile, it is important to use the right profile with the right version.
Need to know a bit more of past history of what was done on the 'puter.
Tell him to use. violence on the computer. To himself is optional.
